Control Resonant Map Confusing? Do the Pylon First
Every Manhattan Zone starts as a blank map outline - no streets, no buildings, no icons - until you personally unlock that Zone's Map Kit. The city is vertically warped and gravity flips later, so earning the map before chasing markers is the single highest-value habit.
The map is not broken - it is locked. In each new Zone, walk to the central tower icon (the Pylon), find and activate the three nearby Sensors marked by flashing red lights, then activate the Pylon. The detailed street-and-building map appears. Do this before touching a single story marker.
1Unlock the Map in Every New Zone
-
1
Open the map the moment you enter the Zone.
Look for the tower icon near the center - that is the Pylon. It is usually on or next to a prominent building or plaza.
-
2
Travel to the Pylon's base and do a slow full circle.
You are looking for flashing red lights - the three unactivated Sensors. They never appear on the map until you get close.
-
3
Circle the nearest large buildings.
Sensors sit on rooftops, in courtyards, next to water towers, or behind fences. Buildings block line of sight - walk the perimeter instead of staring from one spot.
-
4
Climb high ground for a better view.
Fire escapes, cranes, inverted rooftops. Sensors stay within a short radius of the Pylon - they are never across the Zone.
-
5
Interact with all three Sensors, return to the Pylon, activate it.
The detailed street-and-building map for that Zone appears, along with nearby side-activity icons.
2Situations You Will Hit
Mistakes That Keep Players Lost
- Chasing a story marker before the three Sensors are done. You end up wandering a featureless map for the rest of the Zone.
- Standing in one spot waiting for red lights to be obvious. They are usually hidden behind the nearest building - move and circle.
- Assuming the unlocked map shows the exact route. It shows destinations, not paths. The physical space is still the puzzle.
- Running past Doors without activating them. You will walk the same long stretch twice when it is time to leave.
