Do not treat Ultra as "the Alpha ball." Alphas despawn if they escape that attempt but respawn later - you can fight them again. Spend Mega on Alpha farm, save Ultra for something you will raise on a combat team, and save Sparkling Cubes for a favorite, a Prismana, or a form you will not easily get again.

1What Each Pod Actually Does

PodEffect and when to use it
Aniipod BasicEveryday catching. Your default throw.
Aniipod Pro / MegaFaster or slightly harder targets. Mega is what most players throw at Alphas once the Aniilog entry is done.
Aniipod Ultra100% catch + at least Elite potential. Does not make it Sparkling or Perfect. For creatures you will keep and raise.
Sparkling Cube100% catch + Perfect potential + Sparkling mutation. The rarest item in this conversation - one-shot decisions only.
Alpha farm note: material drops come from committing Primegy to the catch attempt - even if the pod fails. Backing out of the prompt gives no loot. You do not need a successful catch to get paid.

2The Decision Flow, In Order

3Default Loadout Rules

Spend freely
Basic · Pro · Mega
Basic for everyday catches, Pro/Mega for harder targets, Mega for Alpha farming once you have the log entry.
Locked
Ultra · Sparkling Cube
Ultra stays locked until you point at something you will keep and raise. Cube stays locked for favorite / Prismana / never-again forms.

Mistakes That Burn Rare Pods

The split players who already burned their first Ultras recommend: Basic for everyday, Mega for Alphas, Ultra locked for keepers, Cube locked for favorites and never-again forms.
