Aniimo: Is It a Gacha or Can You Catch Every Creature?
No creature gacha. Every Aniimo is catchable in the world (or through play that leads to a world encounter) - the loop is explore, find, weaken or sneak, throw an Aniipod. Money goes to passes, cosmetics, and convenience, not to pulling the roster.
The answer: you can complete the Aniilog without spending on pulls. Regular and variant Aniimo spawn in the world under the right biome, weather, and time. Even the current legendary (Irisalis) is a token grind plus one scripted catch - the beta's random Rift pull event was removed after player backlash.

Explore the correct biome, weather, and time of day
Creatures are location-locked. Region, environment, weather, and time all matter - walk the area until the species you want actually appears.

Set up the throw before you commit
Check the on-screen catch % first. Sneak from behind, hit a sleeping target, or use Break and traps. A good setup with a cheap Aniipod often beats a rushed Ultra throw.

Use the right pod for the job
Basic / Pro / Mega for commons. Save Ultra and Sparkling Cube for Alphas, rares, or something you cannot easily re-find. Failed premium pods usually return, so they are less wasteful than they look.

Hatch eggs as a second source
Eggs drop from play and hatch at the Hatchinator - fills forms you have not seen in the field yet.
2Trigger Prismana in the Zone, Not a Banner

Each zone has one Prismana variant
Fill that zone's flow bar by catching local Aniimo - not just defeating them - or by using Nurture and Bloom spots. Lucky catches dump a huge chunk of the bar at once.

Farm Iris Petals / Legendary Tokens through normal play
Story, region exploration, Branch upgrades and Lumin Amber, Journey quests, Silver badges for catching most species in a region, Alpha clears, Prismana catches, weekly events. Players are already reporting ~80 petals in the first week.

Wait for the capture window
The actual Irisalis story encounter / Rift Space opens September 25, 2026 once you hit the required level (Student I). The current Trail of Butterfly Shadows event only feeds petals - it does not hand you the catch.

Then enter the exclusive story encounter and catch once. It is a one-time scripted bond, not a random pull.

What Money Actually Buys
Battle pass / Companion Handbook, monthly pass, cosmetics, extra Aniipods and Sparkling Cubes, convenience items. Players repeatedly point out that a full-F2P account can field a stronger, more complete roster than an account that only bought skins - the creatures come from the map.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Treating Alphas as one-and-done. If it escapes it despawns, but it respawns. Drops often come from spending Primergy even on a failed catch - no need to dump Ultras every time.
- Killing instead of catching for a Prismana flow bar. Catching fills the bar; defeating does not (or fills far less).
- Wasting a Sparkling Cube on a random "Iris". Prismana Iris from perfume or journey chains is not Irisalis.
- Assuming battle-pass exclusives are gone forever. Expectation is temporary exclusivity, then open-world availability.
- Leaving premium pods equipped. They stay on the throw wheel and get thrown by accident - unequip Ultras and Sparkling Cubes in inventory.
