MECCHA CHAMELEON: How Clones Work After Update 2.0.0
After update 2.0.0 you can drop up to two clones - but a hunter hitting any clone kills your real body. Use them as extra painted bodies for score and disguise, not as disposable bait.
The risk: if a clone looks like a player and a hunter tags it, you are out no matter where you are standing - same if a teammate shoots your clone. Every clone is points on the board and a death button.
1Dropping Clones Correctly
-
1
Finish the look first
Paint, pose, and place the body exactly how you want the copy to freeze. Q snapshots whatever you are right now - a half-painted clone is an easy read.
-
2
Press Q to drop clone 1
You now have two bodies: you plus one frozen copy.
-
3
Move immediately
Repaint and repos for the next hide. Do not stand next to the clone.
-
4
Watch the two green diamonds on the HUD
Each is a 30-second cooldown. When the next diamond is ready, press Q again for clone 2. Cap is you + 2 clones = 3 bodies.
-
5
Keep a finger on X
X deletes all clones instantly - use it the second a hunter lines up a shot on a copy you no longer trust.
-
6
If you entered free cam, press 5 first
Otherwise X will not work.

3Controls Cheat Sheet
| Key | Effect |
|---|---|
| Q | Drop a clone of current paint + pose (after cooldown) |
| X | Delete every clone instantly |
| Green diamonds | 30s cooldown per clone slot |
| 5 | Exit free cam so X works |
Common Mistakes
- Treating clones as extra lives. They are not - a hit clone is your death.
- Placing two obvious copies next to each other. It screams "player used Q."
- Leaving a bad clone up because you forgot X.
- Cloning before the paint or pose is finished.
- Assuming more clones = safer. More clones = more things a hunter can legally kill you through.
