Batomon Showdown: Are You Fighting Live Players?
No. Batomon Showdown is asynchronous PvP: you shop with no timer, press Battle, and the game loads a same-day snapshot of another player's team - or a bot board if the pool is thin. Nobody is waiting to ready up.
The answer: treat every fight as a recorded lineup from the same numbered day, not a live duel. The rule is one sentence - same-day saved board, take as long as you want in shop.
1What Happens When You Hit Battle
-
1
Finish shop work first - there is no opponent clock
Reposition, merge, lock, or reread abilities before you click Battle.
-
2
Search loads a board from the same day number as yours
A day-5 fight is another day-5 snapshot, not a random live lobby.
-
3
Human boards are frozen teams
That player is not making decisions against you in real time. If they change their shop later, it does not change the snapshot you already loaded.
-
4
Thin pools get filled with day-specific bot boards
Off-hours fights are why some boards feel "scripted."
-
5
Search still needs a connection
But you are waiting for a file to load, not for a person to accept.
2What Changes Because It Is Snapshot PvP
3How to Play Around Snapshots
-
1
Shop until the board has a plan for this day, then Battle
-
2
Watch the auto-fight to see which piece of their saved lineup killed you
Front HP, a start-of-battle proc, a multicast engine - identify the class of board, not the username.
-
3
Next shop, buy the answer to that class of board
Not a revenge fantasy against a player who was never there.
-
4
If search feels empty, wait or retry
That is pool size plus day-matching, not a missing live queue.
Common Mistakes
- Waiting for a live opponent to time out. They will not - you time yourself out by sending a half-built board.
- Assuming a loss means "that player is better right now." It means their saved day-N board beat your current board.
- Tilting at "unfair" one-shots in late/Extended. That is snapshot power level, not someone clicking skills at you.
- Starting a ranked run as a "quick test." Overwriting or dying still scores the snapshot run you already played.
- Thinking couch or same-screen PvP exists. It does not - two people cannot fight live in one session.
