League of Legends Patch 26.11

LoL ADC Meta Guide - Best Picks for Current Patch 26.11

ADCs are struggling against mage APCs in bot lane. This guide covers the picks that actually win right now, how to survive lane, when to fight, and the mistakes that keep you stuck.

15 ADC picks ranked SS to C tier list 3 team comps 5 laning steps
Core problem this patch: Mage APCs (Brand, Karthus, Ziggs, Seraphine) are topping win rates with safe poke and burst. Traditional marksmen need safe scaling picks and correct build pathing to compete. Focus on surviving lane and outscaling, not early fights.

Full ADC Tier List - Patch 26.11

Tier Champion Why
SS SmolderADC Most-discussed "just pick and win" option. DFT synergy, fast stacking in longer solo queue games, safety and strong teamfight damage. Build crit or bruiser.
SS Miss FortuneADC High win rate lane bully with Double Up poke and a devastating teamfight ult. Blind-pick safe.
SS CaitlynADC Long-range lane dominance and trap zone control. Great for establishing early leads and controlling poke trades.
SS JinxADC Hyper-carry late game with AoE chompers and rocket spam. Low mechanical burden, strong in low elo and long games.
S AsheADC Utility and slows for lane control and teamfight setup. Unaffected by most patch changes, excellent vs poke-heavy lanes.
S TwitchADC Stealth-based assassin-carry hybrid. Great in passive lanes for flanks that delete squishies.
S NilahADC Strong laning with heal/shield synergy and melee-range burst. Punishes aggressive supports hard.
S Kog'MawADC Hyper-scaling on-hit with %HP damage. Best with peel/protection comps. Destroys tanks.
S SamiraADC Aggressive all-in dives and style-stacking resets. Needs engage support to unlock full potential.
A XayahADC Solid self-peel with feather combos and good scaling against divers and assassins.
A ZeriADC Mobile burst and wall-piercing. Shines in specific fast-paced comps with engage.
A JhinADC High burst and utility with traps/ult. Strong in poke-heavy games, pairs well with hooks.
A LucianADC Early game aggression and duo synergy. Punishes enchanters in lane hard.
A TristanaADC Jump resets and tower pressure for objective control. Strong in snowball situations.
A VayneADC True damage and condemn for dueling tanks and bruisers. Scales hard but lane is weak.
B EzrealADC Safe poke and mobility but lower damage output currently. AP scalings buffed but still below the SS picks.
B VarusADC Lethality or on-hit flexibility depending on comp. Watch for incoming nerfs.
B Kai'SaADC Evolution scaling that needs time and items to come online. Punished hard by early pressure.
B DravenADC High mechanical snowball potential but extremely punishing on mistakes. One-trick territory.
B ApheliosADC Complex kit with high ceiling but steep learning curve. Not recommended for climbing.
C KalistaADC High mobility but nerfed and heavily support-dependent. Rarely worth the coordination cost in solo queue.
C Ziggs / APC magesAPC Viable in specific poke comps but lower teamfight impact than the true APC picks (Karthus, Brand).

Step-by-Step Laning Guide

1

Choose your starting item

Start Doran's Blade in most matchups for sustain and all-in threat. Switch to Doran's Bow against poke-heavy lanes (Caitlyn, Ziggs, Xerath) where you need the extra HP on ranged hits.

2

Farm safely, trade on their cooldowns

Against Brand/Ziggs, do not greed autos. Identify when their main poke ability is on cooldown and then step up for a short trade. Drop CS if needed to avoid getting chunked to 50%. Position to kite backward.

3

Rush your keystone item

Most S-tier picks use Duskblade of Draktharr (DFT) effectively. Get your first item as fast as possible. For Smolder, do not leave lane to fight - stack passively and reach first item power spike.

4

Hit level 6 and look for the spike

Level 6 is your first real power spike. Look for ult setups: Ashe arrow into an extended trade, Jinx rocket to pick off low targets, MF ult in a choke point. If enemy bot is overextended, ping for mid to rotate.

5

Group for objectives mid-game

ADCs scale best with gold leads from safe farming. Prioritize vision and side wave management before grouping. Do not force fights mid-game as the second-weakest member of the team - wait for your carry items (2-3 items) before being aggressive.

Key Decision Points

Build Path

  • Crit for most: Stormrazor into PD into IE
  • On-hit (Kraken Slayer, Guinsoo's) for Varus/Kai'Sa vs tanks
  • Do not lock in a full build before 2 items - adapt to their comp
  • Gluttonous Greaves over Berserker's for sustain in long games

Support Synergy

  • Pair with engage tanks (Nautilus, Leona) to punish mages
  • Enchanters (Lulu, Seraphine) enable scaling but require you to farm safely
  • Communicate engage windows - do not expect roams without pings

When to Fight

  • Only when you have item or ult advantage over them
  • Avoid 2v2 all-ins pre-power spike into poke lanes
  • Wait for support CC to lead - do not initiate yourself
  • If you are down 2+ kills, farm and delay, do not force it

Champion Selection

  • Low elo: Smolder/Jinx/Ashe for ease and scaling
  • One-tricking: Ezreal/Draven/Nilah have high mastery returns
  • Blind pick SS-tier if possible; counter short-range all-ins vs mages
  • Smolder: use DFT over Fleet Footwork for better trade output

Top 3 Team Compositions

1
Protect-the-Hypercarry

Bot: Jinx or Ashe + Enchanter (Seraphine/Lulu) - Jungle: Tank or engage - Mid: Control Mage - Top: Bruiser. Scales into unstoppable late game. The enchanter keeps you alive through the early pressure window, then you 1v9 teamfights with 3 items.

2
Mage Bot Poke/Control

Bot: Brand or Karthus APC + Engage Support (Nautilus/Leona) - Jungle: Assassin - Mid: Burst mage - Top: Tank. Dominates lane with AoE damage. Best if your ADC mechanics are not reliable - the APC carries the teamfights.

3
Aggressive Early Snowball

Bot: Samira or Caitlyn + Hook Support (Thresh/Nautilus) - Jungle: Diver - Mid: Wave-clear - Top: Split-push threat. Win lane early, convert kills into objective pressure, and close the game before scaling picks come online. High risk, high reward.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

X

Greeding CS into poke. One chunked trade from Brand can cost you a recall and 2 waves of CS. If you are getting hit, step back - a lost CS is better than losing 30% HP.

X

Building full crit without attack speed. Stormrazor into IE skips attack speed. Your DPS suffers. Add PD or Runaan's for attack speed before the third crit item.

X

Trading into mages without cooldown awareness. Brand/Ziggs/Seraphine burst on short cooldowns. Commit only when their main ability just whiffed or is on cooldown - otherwise you lose every trade.

X

Playing hypercarries without wave management. Vayne and Kog'Maw need 3 items. If you are not managing side waves between fights, you are permanently behind your power curve.

X

Forcing early fights instead of scaling. The biggest low-elo ADC mistake. Your kit scales with gold. Dying once at 8 minutes for a kill that nets 0 objectives delays your first item by 2 minutes and costs more than the kill is worth.
