How the Sprite System Works
Pick a Sprite at match start, equip it as backbling for its passive buff, level it by opening chests and getting eliminations, then extract at Level 5 to permanently master it and earn Sprite Dust. Dust is used to summon specific Sprite types and buy Portable Extractors at Sprite Stations.
Critical: Dying with an unmastered Sprite loses your leveling progress. Extract spares at the first safe opportunity rather than stacking them in your inventory.
Fire
Fiery burst on taking damage. Best for combat and leveling fast.
Water
Shields for you and squad while in water. Good for coastal zones.
Earth
Better loot from chests. Great for efficient Sprite-hunting runs.
Ghost
Reload cloak on eliminations. Strong for aggressive playstyle.
Demon
Siphon on elims. Sustain-focused, pairs well with Fire burst.
Step 1 - Where to Find Sprites
| Sprite Type | Rarity | Best Locations |
|---|---|---|
| Fire, Water, Earth, Ghost, Demon | Common | Regular chests everywhere. Roaming after first storm circle. Type-based biomes (Water near beaches, Earth near forests, Fire in urban areas). |
| Duck, specific named types | Rare | Relic/blue chests in high-POI areas. Eliminated players carrying them. Sprite Stations (buy with Dust). |
| Burnt Peanut, Zero Point, Gold variants | Gold / Very Rare | Sinister Strip vault area (best for Burnt Peanut). Relic chests. Drop rate ~0.045-0.12%. Land Sinister Strip, clear the area, repeat across multiple games. |
Event Timing - When to Farm Rares
Mastery Mondays: More Legendaries/Mythics, faster leveling, 2x Sprite Dust. Best day for rare hunting.
Power Hours (Saturdays): Additional buffs and spawn boosts. Plan your longest sessions here.
Off-days: Farm common types and Dust. Chase rares only on event days.
Step 2 - Level Your Sprite to Max
1
Equip a combat-strong Sprite for faster leveling
Fire or Demon Sprites level fastest because you'll get elims more easily. Earth is best if you're focused on chest-opening runs.
2
Open chests with the Sprite equipped
Each chest opened contributes to Sprite XP. Prioritize Sprite chests and relic/blue chests for bonus progress and potential new Sprites.
3
Get eliminations - combat XP is the fastest source
Each elim adds significant Sprite level progress. Play aggressively with a combat Sprite equipped, especially early in the storm when players are looting.
4
Extract spare Sprites as you find them
Don't stack spares in inventory. Extract them at the first safe opportunity for Dust and mastery progress. Dying with extras loses their level progress.
Step 3 - Extract Safely
1
Locate the Extraction Site on the map
Sites appear as marked platforms after the early storm circle. Scout the area for campers before calling the extraction crate - sites are the most contested locations on the map.
2
Clear the area before starting the extraction timer
The extraction timer starts when you call the crate. In squads, one player provides cover while another extracts. Solo: pre-clear or use a Portable Extractor.
3
Unlock Portable Extractors ASAP
Buy with Dust at Sprite Stations or unlock via mastery rewards. Portable Extractors let you extract anywhere - this removes the biggest farming risk. Prioritize unlocking them over other Dust purchases.
4
Extract at Level 5 to permanently master
Mastering a Sprite at Level 5 gives permanent collection rewards: backblings, Sprite Dust, XP, and additional Portable Extractor slots. Mastering multiples unlocks more perks.
Key Decision Points
Fight at extraction site or use a Portable Extractor?
Always prefer Portable Extractor when available. Extraction sites are the most camped locations. Save marked site extractions for when you have strong cover or squad support.
Which Sprite to equip for leveling vs. combat?
Equip Fire or Demon for combat builds - they level fastest through eliminations. Use Earth if running a chest-looting route for efficient Sprite Dust farming.
When to chase Burnt Peanut or Gold Sprites?
Only on Mastery Monday or Power Hour events. Off-days have near-impossible drop rates. Use the Sinister Strip vault loop - land there, clear, loop back to chests repeatedly.
How to spend Sprite Dust?
Priority: Portable Extractors first, then summon missing Sprite types you need for collection. Weapon upgrades and XP are lower priority unless you're capped on Portable uses.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Dying with an unmastered high-level Sprite - you lose all leveling progress. Extract spare Sprites as soon as you find them.
Walking into extraction sites blind - third-party campers are waiting for you during the extraction timer. Scout or use a Portable Extractor.
Chasing rare Sprites on off-days - drop rates for Gold and Burnt Peanut are near zero without event boosts. Save rare farming for Mastery Mondays.
Quitting to lobby with a Sprite held - some players report losing held Sprites on lobby exit. Extract before leaving.
Spending Dust on weapon upgrades before Portable Extractors - Portable Extractors are the single highest-value Dust purchase for sustained farming.
