Diablo 4 Season End Guide
What to do before season reset: claim Battle Pass and Journey rewards, manage the remove-only stash, transfer gear to Eternal, and avoid permanent losses from common mistakes.
Why This Matters
Players permanently miss cosmetics, titles, and seasonal rewards by not claiming before the deadline. Seasonal currencies and stash items get deleted. The remove-only tab isn't infinite - you have until the next season ends to clear it.
Season End Checklist
Claim all Battle Pass tiers (free + premium track)
Complete and claim all Season Journey chapters
Spend all seasonal currencies before they expire
Move top-value gear to Eternal stash
Claim all reputation board rewards
Buy anything useful from seasonal vendors
Detailed Steps
Claim All Rewards First (Time-Sensitive)
Do this before anything else. These expire permanently.
- Battle Pass - Claim ALL tiers including the free track. Cosmetics and titles are permanent but must be claimed before season end
- Season Journey - Complete and claim all chapter rewards. Some are seasonal-exclusive and cannot be obtained later
- Event currencies - Spend all before they become useless
- Reputation boards - Claim all seasonal reputation rewards
Clear Seasonal Currencies
Seasonal-specific currencies and crafting materials become worthless or deleted after reset.
- Spend all seasonal currency on cosmetics or useful items
- Check seasonal vendors - buy anything you'll use in Eternal
- Salvage or sell low-value gear to free stash space before transition
Manage Stash for Eternal Transfer
Remove-Only Tab Warning
Your seasonal stash becomes a "remove-only" tab at season end. You have until the next season ends to clear it - after that, unclaimed items are deleted permanently.
- Move high-value items to main Eternal-accessible storage first
- Priority items: top-tier unique godrolls, Uber Uniques, endgame boss materials, valuable runes
- Use alternate Eternal characters as extra storage if stash tabs are full
- Salvage or sell anything you won't use in Eternal Realm
Power Up for Eternal (If Playing There)
If you plan to continue in Eternal Realm post-season:
- Max relevant upgrades (glyphs, Paragon boards) while seasonal bonuses apply
- Farm any missing renown or account-wide progress
- Test your build WITHOUT seasonal mechanics to see how it performs post-transition
- Note: balance patches affect Eternal too - seasonal-boosted builds may change
Decide on Characters
All seasonal characters auto-transfer to Eternal Realm at season end. Keep strong builds you want for Eternal play. Delete low-value characters to reduce clutter. New seasons are full resets, so seasonal gear isn't needed for the next one.
Key Decision Points
Play Eternal after season or wait for next season?
If continuing now: focus on stash transfer and test your build without seasonal mechanics. If waiting: claim all rewards and log off. You lose nothing by waiting for next season except Eternal playtime.
Should I keep seasonal gear for next season?
No. New seasons are full resets. Only keep gear if you want it for Eternal Realm alts or for sentimental value. Godrolled Uber Uniques are worth keeping for Eternal; normal gear is generally not.
Should I keep grinding once Journey/BP is done?
Most players say stop once your goals are complete. Grinding Pits or unnecessary levels after claiming everything is diminishing returns unless you're specifically building for Eternal Realm play.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Leaving Battle Pass or Journey rewards unclaimed
Permanent loss of cosmetics and titles. These cannot be recovered after season end. Do this first before anything else.
Hoarding seasonal currencies and materials
Seasonal currencies become useless or are deleted after reset. Spend them before the deadline.
Ignoring the remove-only stash tab
Items in the remove-only tab vanish when the next season ends - not immediately, but they will be deleted. Prioritize clearing it.
Assuming seasonal powers carry over to Eternal
Seasonal mechanics deactivate in Eternal Realm. Your build will perform differently without them. Test before committing to Eternal grind.
