Dead by Daylight: Krasue Killer Guide
Master the Krasue killer by understanding Body and Head form synergy, Leech infection mechanics, mushroom economy, and chase tactics to dominate Survivors.
Core Mechanic: Body and Head Form Synergy
Krasue operates in two forms. The key to playing her effectively is controlling when to use each form and managing the Leech infection system. Survivors cannot easily cleanse Leech while you apply pressure through Body form infections and Head form chases. Switching too freely or infecting poorly lets Survivors stay clean and turns Krasue into a clunky M1 killer.
Body Form
Body form is your infection engine. Use Regurgitate to apply Leech I to Survivors. Direct hits apply Leech instantly, and splash damage can infect multiple targets. Hitting walls, doors, and objects (not the floor) creates a scattershot "spatter" of mini-glands that can infect around cover.
Head Form
Head form is your chase and lethal tool. It moves faster, has an elevated third-person camera for mindgames and information, and can vault pallets quickly. Use Headlong Flight for catch-up mobility and Intestinal Whip to damage already-Leeched Survivors.
Step-by-Step Gameplan
Step 1: Opening and Early Pressure (Body Form Priority)
- Start in Body form. Walk toward Survivor spawns if possible (Corrupt Intervention helps buy time for this)
- Immediately look to apply Leech I via Regurgitate on as many Survivors as you can before any major form switch
- Direct hits apply Leech I instantly and splash nearby Survivors
- Aim to infect multiple people per Body phase before switching to Head
Every Body to Head switch spawns a mushroom (starts with 5 to 6 on map, max around 10, plus timed spawns). Infecting only one Survivor per cycle creates surplus mushrooms and easy cleanses for Survivors.
Step 2: Reliable Infections (Regurgitate and Spatter)
- Prefer flat surfaces (walls, doors, windows, pallets) for spatter when Survivors hug cover or are animation-locked (vaulting, unhooking)
- Shallow angles send the scatter along the wall; steeper angles bounce back toward you
- Arc longer shots upward since the projectile has noticeable drop. Close range (around 6 to 7 meters) needs little to no arc
- After a successful spit, go for a basic M1 if possible before switching (re-infects cleansing Survivors too). Do not instantly switch every time since bodyblockers may appear
Decision: Direct Hit vs Spatter
Direct hit for speed and reliability in open areas or when aim is good. Spatter when Survivors are near objects or you need a safer "miss." Practice bounce spots since rocks and uneven surfaces are inconsistent.
Step 3: Chase and Finishing (Head Form)
Switch to Head once Leeched Survivors are present. Head moves faster (4.8 m/s), has elevated third-person camera, 40m terror radius, and can vault pallets quickly but cannot break them or gain Bloodlust.
- Headlong Flight: Ground-level high-speed mode with no Survivor collision. Use it to catch up, fly through or past Survivors, then stop ahead to bodyblock pallets and windows. Exit with enough time for recovery before attacking or vaulting.
- Intestinal Whip: Dash attack that damages already-Leeched Survivors. Line up straight shots since it works best in open areas or straight walls, weaker on tight round loops. Prefire slightly around corners and strafe during wind-up. Close range hits faster. You can chain whips on non-Leeched Survivors for partial infection (3 hits approximately equals Leech I).
- Vault and hug: Vault after Survivors on playable pallets and hug the loop. For unsafe or round pallets or double-pallet tiles, switch back to Body only when the Survivor is zoned and cannot freely run.
Switching from Head to Body is slow and loses distance. Minimize it. Only switch back to Body to break specific unplayable pallets, re-infect groups, or secure hooks. Switching while pallet-stunned continues the transform.
Step 4: Mushroom Economy and Interruption
- Mentally track mushrooms: start count, plus one per Body to Head switch, minus one when a Survivor's portrait turns green (cleansing)
- Aggressively infect multiple Survivors and interrupt cleanses (M1 or whip re-applies Leech and cancels the green cleanse progress)
- Even partial cleanse restores on damage, so hitting a cleansing Survivor resets their progress
- Slugging pauses infection progress but keeps the Leech (useful for pressure)
- Infection is lost on hook, so time your hooks strategically
Late Game Mushroom Pressure
When Survivors run low on mushrooms, cleanses become risky or impossible and Leech II (Broken plus injury if healthy) becomes more common. Spawn mushrooms near yourself or in awkward spots by timing switches when possible.
Step 5: Mid-to-Late Game Flow
- Between chases, use Head plus Flight for map control and information
- Re-infect on unhooks if the animation is incomplete
- Push generators while keeping Leech pressure so Survivors cannot freely heal or cleanse safely
- Endgame benefits from stealth or mobility add-ons, or builds that pair with her hard-to-see Head form
Key Decision Points Summary
Infect Now or Chase Now?
Prefer infecting groups in Body first. Only start pure Head chases if Survivors are already Leeched or you accept the 3-whip cost for non-Leeched targets.
Switch Forms?
Body to Head is fast and useful. Head to Body is slow and only worth it when necessary (specific pallets, mass re-infect, pickup).
Flight or Walk?
Flight for catch-up, bodyblock, and cut-offs. Conserve charges since Flight recharges slowly.
Break Pallet or Vault?
Vault and pressure most tiles in Head. Only switch to Body to break the bad ones that cannot be vaulted safely.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Switching to Head immediately after one infection (spawns free mushrooms and wastes the Body phase)
- Starting chases or map traversal primarily in Head without Leech (very inefficient)
- Ignoring spatter angles or only going for direct hits (or vice versa)
- Switching back to Body mid-chase when the Survivor can just keep running
- Letting Survivors cleanse unchallenged or failing to re-infect after partial cleanses
- Over-relying on Head for everything or treating Krasue like a pure mobility killer without infection demand
Once form fluency, spatter consistency, and mushroom tracking click, Krasue feels highly lethal with strong 1v1 chase and macro pressure. Practice Regurgitate aim and spatter bounces, plus Whip timing, in custom or low-stakes games first. Builds often lean into info, regression (Pop, Oppression, etc.), Dissolution (helps with pallets without full Body switches), or her own perks depending on playstyle, but the power fundamentals matter more than any single perk.
